Hello and welcome to my class! This is my 2^nd year at OPE teaching 2^nd grade and I am looking forward to a great year with another great class! Prior to OPE I taught at several of the Carmel/Clay Schools teaching Kindergarten, as well as some long term leaves in 2^nd grade, 3^rd grade, and 5^th grade.  

I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan where I earned my Bachelors of Science and my Masters of Education at Aquinas College. I taught for 2 years in Michigan before moving to Florida to live closer to some of my family (and for the warm weather!). In Florida, I taught for 3 years. I met and married a Carmel native which brought me to Indianapolis!

My husband, John, is a dentist. We have one 3 year old son, named Thomas James (he goes by TJ) and we are expecting a new sibling for TJ due in the end of March.

In my little spare time I enjoy cooking, especially trying new recipes for my family and friends, shopping, and reading. We enjoy vacationing at our cottage in northern Michigan on Crystal Lake and visiting my parents in South Georgia. 

I love teaching and find that every year I learn something new from each one of my students. I am dedicated to their success and am passionate about finding and meeting all of the academic needs of the children in my class.
