Every Friday after announcements, one student from each class will bring their class’s completed Box Tops Collection Sheets to the lobby. For each completed sheet the class turns in, they can choose to receive one paper “snowball” to put on another class’s door or an “x” to block a snowball on their own door. If you choose a snowball, your class can “throw” it at any other class at Forest Dale Elementary School. (We won’t actually be throwing the paper; we will just be taping it to the class doors.) If you choose an “x,” the “x” can be taped on top of a snowball to “remove it”. After your class has traded in their collection sheets for a “snowball” or an “x” they have 5 minutes to “throw” their snowball at another class or place their “x” on one of their snowballs.
We will hand out snowballs only on Fridays (starting on 1/26). As an incentive to get your sheets turned in, we will also be offering weekly bonus “snowballs” to the top three classrooms with the largest number of submissions for each week. First place will get 3 bonus “snowballs”, second place will get 2 bonus “snowballs”, and third place will get one bonus “snowball”. Our collection dates will be 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16 with a final collection on Friday, 2/23.
And the winner is…
This year there will be a winning class in each grade level. The class that has the LEAST amount of snowballs on their door at the end of the competition on 2/23 will win a BYOD (bring your own device) party! If there is a tie between rooms in a grade level, the classroom that turned in the most completed Box Tops collection sheets will be declared the winner.
Also, the one class that turns in the MOST completed collection sheets will win an extra recess & another prize that will be announced when the contest begins!
